WORKSHOP ON MENTORING & MONITORING

A workshop on monitoring and mentoring was conducted in the premise of Delhi Public School Varanasi on 8th September 2012. The workshop was conducted by the chairman of Central Board of Secondary Education Mr. Vineet Joshi and Director Academics Training and Research Dr. Sadhana Parashar. Principals of more than 75 schools in and across Varanasi participated in the workshop.

One of the main aims of monitoring and mentoring programme is to build capacity within CBSE Schools to implement CCE effectively. The workshop was to make the school administration more aware about co-scholastic areas. Mrs Parashar said that the primary aim of education is not to enable students to do well in school, but to help them do well in the lines they lead outside school.

The programme began with the formal welcome of the guests. There after it was followed by the lighting of the lamp by the guests, Director of DPS Mr. Pankaj Rajgarhia and the Principal Mr. R. K. Pandey. Saraswati vandana by choir group made the atmosphere sacred and pious Ms. Kiran Sharma introduced the guests to the audience. Hon Principal Sir welcomed the guests by presenting then a bouquet of love & gratitude.

Mr. Joshi addressed the gathering and spoke about the overall development of the children. He said that apart from academics we need to pay more attention on other fields where a child can excel. It is on the teacher to understand and know about the children. The vote of thanks was proposed by Principal Sir.
